The Tufts Face Database

The Tufts Face Database

created by the Panetta Visualization, Sensing & Simulation Research Laboratory

The first known comprehensive heterogeneous face database is created that includes many different types of image modalities: photographic images, a computerized facial sketch created from a portrait sitting of the participant using the FACEs software, thermal images, near infrared (NIR) images, and a 3D image of the participant. The goal of this database is to provide researchers developing new recognition algorithms with a platform to use as a benchmark to validate performance, accuracy, and fairness in AI algorithms.
